Mumbai, July 27 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS) Item girl Rakhi Sawant will host a chat show ‘Gajab Desh Ki Ajab Kahaaniyaan’ on Imagine TV. The show, produced by UTV, is a showcase of strange stories that highlight the wacky lives and strange beliefs that exist in India.
“The show will bring together the funniest stories from across the country; stories that will leave you holding your tummy in laughter and your head in disbelief!” said a channel spokesperson.
“Ever heard of a man who has not taken bath for 37 years, or two families who combat each other and use ghosts as their weapons, or a woman who prefers to stay perched on a cell phone tower for days, to avoid getting married to a man her parents chose!” said the spokesperson.
As the host of the show, Rakhi will bring these stories to the viewers in her trademark, over-the-top style.“I am elated to be back at doing what I do best – Entertain! My audience loves me and so do I. This time around I will be host of the baap of all shows, where you will witness some of the most bizarre incidents that are sure leaved you shell-shocked and rolling on the floor in splits of laughter. All I can say is ‘It Happens only in India’,” said Rakhi.
Rakhi Sawant is hosting a new show, ‘Ghajab Desh Ki Ajab Kahini’ and she has laid an exorbitant demand to the producer. She has demanded heavy accessories and costly wardrobe. Rakhi has also demanded C-string panties in three colors, red, green and purple which are very popular in Hollywood but rarely available in India. Rakhi has also threatened the channel to walk out of the show if her requirements are not fulfilled.
A source from the production house told, "Rakhi, who's hosting the show, put forth her demands in terms of clothes and accessories. The cost of her wardrobe is around Rs 70 lakh, way beyond what we had expected it to be. We are still negotiating. As if all this wasn't enough, Rakhi recently read a lot about C-string and wants them to be included in her clothes. While her clothes aren't a problem, getting a C-string is difficult. It's not available in the Indian markets yet, but she has issued us an ultimatum and will refuse to shoot unless she gets them."
Speaking on the launch of the show, Mr. Santosh Nair, CEO, TV Content – UTV said, “Rakhi is definitely the ideal choice for the host, someone who will bring in an element of humour and entertainment, in her own unique style!”
